We Don't Want Others to Experience This Loss

In their grief, Monique's family and friends banded together to create the U'nique Community Fund. Since 2012, we have worked with the community hosting events such as our Womanless Beauty Pageant and New Year's Eve Ball. We also participate in the annual Out of the Darkness community walk hosted by The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

For Her

The U'Nique Community Fund was founded in 2012 to honor the life of Monique K. Parkin, who died by suicide in January 2012. The guiding purpose of the Fund is to create awareness of suicide and its prevention in individuals and in the community. The Fund strives to attain these goals through the creation of community outreach programs and small grants focusing on suicide awareness and prevention. Why We Exist

According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, 44,965 people die by suicide annually in America. Help us end the statistic.

Our mission is simple: to stop suicide and end the stigma surrounding mental health. Millions of Americans suffer from a form of mental illness. It's ok to not be ok, and it's ok to seek help.

The U'Nique Community Fund works with our local community to fund programs, host events, and provide resources to educate all on the need for mental health and suicide prevention. We are a Wilmington, NC based, 501(c)(3) non-profit, bringing awareness to mental health and prevention to suicide.
